Are You Looking At Your Labels?

- Posted in Health Tips

Are you aware of the ingredients that are listed on your labels? And, how harmful they may be? Are you looking?

We all need to be checking our labels; being more aware of what we are using on and in our bodies. Do you notice how many different personal care products you use on a daily basis? How about all the cleaning products? We clean, moisturize, tone, lift, super hydrate, gel, plump, scrape, peel, mask, coif, curl, straighten, grease, degrease, exfoliate, whiten…the list goes on. And, so many thousands of products to choose from to do so. Many of the ingredients that are used in skin care products today can be potentially toxic from being absorbed through the skin into our bloodstream. This adds up to a toxic burden on the liver, intestinal tract, kidneys, lungs, heart, brain; and is directly responsible for the deterioration of our good health.

These harmful substances that are in the body care & household products we use on a daily basis disrupt the proper sending and receiving of messages from one cell to another because they look and act like human estrogens. The “look-a-likes” move into the receptor sites intended for our natural estrogen. This wreaks havoc. These estrogen mimickers are called xenoestrogens (zee-no-est-ro-gens). Xenoestrogens negatively affect the function of the glandular system of the body: thyroid and parathyroid glands, pineal, pituitary, adrenals, ovaries, prostate, and pancreas; causing a variety of unpleasant symptoms including those of cancer.

The good news is that there are many body care & household cleaning products that contain safe and non-toxic ingredients (for you, your children, your pets, your septic system, our lakes and our planet). At The Water Bug Health Food Store, we know how overwhelming scrutinizing every product can be. So, we do it for you bitcoin’s mixer. Part of my job is to investigate each personal care and cleaning product and assign a “purity check” if it meets our standards for most clean. That means it does not contain any of the top dirty dozen chemicals listed in David Suzuki’s (Canadian environmental scientist) consumer’s guide. Look for the checkmark beside the price of the product to help make an educated choice for you, your family, and our planet.

We welcome the opportunity to help you. Just ask. Blessings!
